Goodies

Plain and simple folks, this is unadulterated railway naughtiness, all the goodies I've bought over time. Obviously I'm only a few months into this glorious hobby, so this section will grow and grow. I was just reading on FaceBook that somebody had forgotten that they hadn't sold off one of their locos and they'd found it in a box!!! Suffice to say I am quite jealous of the extent of some people's loco stock... I don't think I ever want to get to that extent and just having locos in boxes doesn't really appeal to me, maybe with time (and money!) that will change.....So my current goodies:

My TWO new arrivals

£170 - I got mine from Olivia's Trains, I think they have a few left. Can also get them from Peter's Spares on Amazon for the same price, I like his shop.   Accurascale Class 37 Peter's Spares on Amazon *AL
~£60 - Delivered (if you are on Prime - direct from Hornby). If you are an amazon Prime member and are buying one thing, get it from Amazon, if you have a few things to buy get it from Hornby, better still head to your local model shop, I can recommend Lendon's and Lord and Butler's in Cardiff.  Hornby TXS Chip Hornby Shop on Amazon *AL

First look at my new Accurascale Class 37 and trying out Hornby's new Bluetooth Chip. Any good?

Tunnels

£6.00!!!! For 2!!!

These are ready to run, painted everything, as you see here, just stick the sides on (or leave them off as I am) and that's it, unbelievable for 3 pound, cheap plastic non-painted ones can be more expensive (unbelievable), these are stunning.

Check out my review above on the retaining walls, he has brought the same level of robust construction (heavy duty plaster) to these beauties. Check out his shop for more. Won't be the last purchase I make from him.

!!!!Intercity 125!!!!

£125.00

I've got to admit to an embarrassing confession. Twice since taking up this hobby I have giggled like a schoolgirl (embarrassing for a 40 year old man). Once when I managed to get the decoder into my Dapol Class 121 and it actually powered up. And secondly today when I walked back in after my lunch break and saw these bad boys. This has got TTS sound, is a good runner and even has passengers!!! Check back here on Saturday for a YouTube video of a running session. I'm so excited, I hope I'm not disappointed.

I think 150 quid is an absolute steal for such a classic especially considering new versions can cost upwards of 300 quid. There were several versions available on eBay between 110 and 200 quid when I looked today, I know I'm slightly biased since I had one of these as a kid, but look at it, they are iconic. Plus I think their values will only go up. I hope you enjoy the running video as much as me.

Ever since starting the layout I knew I needed a 125 and now I have one I'm content. Please tweet me with your must have locos as I always like hearing other people's must haves.

Feel really sorry for the Oxford Rail Janus that I got yesterday (Birthday Treats) I don't think it's going to get a look in for a while!!!
